The ground rules
Terms of Use
A simple, fair set of terms for everyone who uses our community celebration platform. By using OCOC, you agree to the points below.
01About these terms
OneCommunityOneCelebration ("OCOC", "the platform", "we") is a volunteer-run platform for organising our residential society's cultural celebrations. It is operated by the elected Organizing Committee under the oversight of the Resident Welfare Association (RWA).
These Terms of Use are a fair, plain-language agreement between you and the community. By accessing the platform or taking part in any event through it, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
02Using the website
The platform is provided for residents of our society and their households to plan, participate in and stay informed about community celebrations. When using it, you agree to:
- Provide accurate information and keep your details up to date
- Use the platform only for genuine, lawful community purposes
- Keep your login credentials confidential and not share access
- Not attempt to disrupt, scrape, or gain unauthorised access to the platform
03Resident responsibilities
As a member of the community, you are expected to:
- Respect that the platform is run by volunteers, in good faith
- Use residents-only information responsibly and never share it outside the community
- Honour any commitments you make — for a role, a slot, or a contribution
- Raise concerns constructively through the proper channels
04Event participation
Participation in any celebration is voluntary and open to all residents, regardless of whether they contribute funds.
- Nominations and performance entries are subject to the organising team's scheduling and venue limits
- You agree to follow safety instructions and venue rules during events
- Minors may participate only with verifiable parental or guardian consent
- The committee may reschedule, modify or cancel programmes where necessary
05Volunteer participation
Volunteering is the heart of OCOC. When you sign up for a role:
- You take on the role in a personal, voluntary capacity — there is no employment relationship
- You agree to coordinate with your cell lead and turn up for committed slots
- You will handle any resident information you encounter responsibly and confidentially
- You can step back from a role by giving the organising team reasonable notice
06User-generated content
You may submit content such as gallery photos, comments and award nominations. You remain responsible for what you submit. By posting, you confirm that:
- You have the right to share the content and any consents needed (especially for photos of others, and of children)
- The content is respectful, accurate, and free of anything unlawful, defamatory or offensive
- You grant the community permission to display the content within the platform and event archive
- The committee may moderate, decline or remove content that breaches these terms
07Community conduct expectations
Our celebrations are inclusive and for everyone. We expect everyone on the platform to:
- Be courteous and inclusive across all ages, traditions and abilities
- Avoid harassment, discrimination, spam or personal attacks
- Keep discussions relevant to community celebrations
- Report misuse to the organising team at onecommunityonecelebration@gmail.com
Serious or repeated breaches may lead to content removal or suspension of platform access, as decided by the committee.
08Limitation of liability
The platform is a community service offered as-is by volunteers, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law:
- The committee, RWA and volunteers are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the platform
- We are not responsible for content submitted by users or for issues caused by third-party services such as payment gateways
- You take part in events at your own risk and are responsible for your own and your dependents' safety
Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable Indian law.
09Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time — for example, when the platform adds features or when rules change. The version number and last-updated date at the top of this page always reflect the current version. Continuing to use the platform after an update means you accept the revised terms.
10Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and any dispute is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka.
For any question about these terms, please reach out via the Contact page or email onecommunityonecelebration@gmail.com.
