Dussehra 2026

Love being on stage and engaging with an audience? OCOC invites residents who are interested in Anchoring / Emceeing during Dussehra 2026. We are looking for confident and enthusiastic community members who can help us host cultural programs, community activities and other key moments during the celebration. Anchoring opportunities may be available in English, Hindi and Kannada, and anchors may be assigned to different programs based on language proficiency, stage confidence, availability and event requirements. Prior professional anchoring experience is not mandatory. If you are comfortable speaking in front of an audience and can keep the program energetic, organised and engaging, we encourage you to express your interest. Expectations: Selected anchors should be comfortable with stage announcements, introducing performances and participants, coordinating with the Cultural/OCOC team, managing transitions between programs, making sponsor/community acknowledgements where required, handling reasonable last-minute program changes, and maintaining an inclusive and family-friendly tone throughout the event. Anchors should be available sufficiently before their assigned program for briefing, script/run-sheet review and coordination with the stage team.

Community / Offline Lottery

As part of our Dussehra/Navratri celebrations, OCOC invites expressions of interest from married couples from our community who would like to serve as the Yajman & Yajmani for the Navratri Puja. The selected couple will take the Sankalp and participate closely in the principal Puja rituals throughout the celebration, under the guidance of the appointed Purohit/Pandit. Sankalpa represents the formal intention associated with the Puja and is traditionally taken as part of religious ceremonies and homas. This is a devotional responsibility requiring commitment, discipline and availability during the Puja period. The selected couple will represent the community in the principal rituals while seeking Maa Durga's blessings for the collective well-being, peace and prosperity of the community. The selected couple should be willing to: 1. Take the Sankalp at the commencement of the Puja as guided by the Purohit. 2. Be available for the important daily Puja rituals and key ceremonies throughout the Navratri/Dussehra period. 3. Follow the religious observances, fasting and dietary practices prescribed by the appointed Purohit for the Yajman/Yajmani. 4. Maintain a satvik lifestyle and appropriate ritual discipline during the period, as advised by the Purohit. 5. Attend key ceremonies including Kalash Sthapana and other principal Puja/Havan rituals where their presence is required. 6. Arrive punctually and wear appropriate traditional attire for ceremonies. 7. Coordinate with the Puja/OCOC team regarding timings and ritual requirements. 8. Inform the organisers immediately if any circumstance may prevent participation in an important ceremony. 9. Participate with devotion and respect for the community nature of the celebration.
